Vintage George Nelson Omni System 2 Bay Walnut Wall Unit with Lighted Desk
A vintage George Nelson Omni System wall unit. The Omni System wall unit was a very important precursor to the famous Herman Miller CSS wall unit. Nelson designed the Omni System in the 1950s, with its design stemming from the very smartly designed vertical poles which act as anchors and adjustable levels for all the shelving and accessories made for this system. Its modular nature is what made this system so attractive, in addition to its beautiful material designs. This specific listing features a 2 bay layout, with three omni poles, and a variety of cabinetry. There are two flat display shelves, a small rectangular cabinet, a large cabinet, a variety storage with drawers and filing cabinets, and a very special drop down desk with storage and built in lighting. Overall, this whole unit is in good vintage condition, but has some small chips and surface level damages. A handful of extra hardware pieces are also included. As pictured, this unit measures 96 inches tall 65.5 inches long, and 18 inches deep (desk 33in deep).
