Description
A mixed-media sculpture titled “I’m Not Crazy” by Tim Burke, c. 2000s. The sculpture depicts a stylized yellow figure with elongated ear-like forms, applied glass eyes, and an open mouth with modeled teeth. The work is executed in painted composite material with attached elements. The surface shows the artist’s characteristic hand-finished texture and expressive detailing. This example reflects Burke’s interest in exaggerated facial features and psychological themes, making it a representative work for collectors of contemporary figurative and character-based sculpture. From a private collection in Metro Detroit. Acquired at a gallery in Detroit. Dimensions: 10”h x 4.75”w x 4.5”d. In very good vintage condition. Full condition reports available upon request. Tim Burke is a contemporary American artist known for his irreverent, psychologically charged sculptures that merge figuration with pop-influenced surrealism. Working primarily in mixed media, Burke creates highly expressive, character-driven forms that blur the line between humor and unease. His work often features exaggerated facial elements, bold color, and cartoon-like distortion, exploring themes of identity, emotion, and the absurdity of modern life. Burke’s sculptures have been exhibited in galleries across the United States and are collected for their distinctive blend of outsider aesthetics and contemporary narrative sensibility.
