Senghor Reid (b. 1976) is an American contemporary artist and educator based in Metro Detroit. He earned his BFA from the University of Michigan and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Art Education from Wayne State University, and attended the New York Studio School's Marathon Program. A National Board Certified Visual Arts Educator and Artist-in-Residence at Cranbrook Schools, Reid has received the Kresge Arts in Detroit Visual Artist Fellowship and Michigan's Governor's Award for Emerging Artist. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD), Kentler International Drawing Space in New York, the St. Catharines Museum in Canada, and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in New York. His work is represented in private, public, and corporate collections.
