A modern space age style silkscreen in colors on paper titled âBeta Novaâ by Peter Grass. Hand signed in pencil on the lower right with an annotation of 200/200 on the lower left. Titled on verso. Published in 1979. A cosmic composition with geometric abstraction. Vivid colors emerge from a constellation inspired background. The artwork retains both the influence of the pre-war constructivists along with the optical effects of American post-war geometric abstraction. Provenance: London Arts Group, Detroit. Dimensions: 30 3/4âh x 26 1/8âw (unframed). In very good vintage condition.
Peter Grass (1947- ) is a Hungarian-American contemporary artist known for space figures set upon black-painted canvases based in New York City. He exhibited throughout the 1970s but his futuristic paintings first gained attention in the early 1980s and catapulted his artistic career. Grassâ work is held in public and private collections worldwide including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
