Serigraph in colors on paper from the Diferencia y Continuidad series, 1970. The print is signed in pencil by Manuel Felguérez in the lower right and numbered 13/150 in the lower left. The composition features geometric forms arranged in a structured layout with linear elements and areas of gray and black, contrasted by red circular and rectangular shapes. The design reflects Felguérez’s interest in geometric abstraction and systematic composition during this period. Felguérez was a leading figure in postwar Mexican abstraction and a member of the Generación de la Ruptura. Works from this series represent his exploration of mathematical structure and form, making the print of interest to collectors of modern Latin American art and geometric abstraction.Provenance: From a private collection. Full condition reports available upon request.Manuel Felguérez (1928–2020) was a Mexican abstract artist and a leading member of the Generación de la Ruptura, a group of artists who moved Mexican art away from traditional muralism toward international modernism. He studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris and later taught for many years at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Felguérez received numerous honors including Mexico’s Premio Nacional de Ciencias y Artes in 1988. His work is held in major museum collections including the Museo de Arte Moderno, Mexico City, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. A museum dedicated to his work, the Museo de Arte Abstracto Manuel Felguérez, opened in Zacatecas in 1998.
