M. Assour - Signed Bronze Figurative Modern Table Sculpture, Mother and Child
A bronze table sculpture signed "M. Assour," depicting an abstracted mother and child in an elongated, modernist form. The composition features a standing female figure holding a smaller child within her curved arms, with simplified facial features, rounded heads, and slender, tapering forms. The sculpture has a dark green patinated finish with areas of bronze coloration, emphasizing the contours and textured surface. Mounted on a square black base, the work reflects elements of mid-century modern figurative sculpture, combining organic abstraction with a representation of maternal connection. The vertically oriented design and simplified forms emphasize the relationship between the two figures.
