Originally designed in 1944, the J16 is recognized for its tall, spindle-back silhouette, sculpted wooden arms, and gracefully curved runners. This example features a warm honey-toned wood frame with a woven seat and is complemented by a plush faux fur seat cover, adding softness and visual contrast to the chair’s clean Scandinavian lines. The high back and gently rocking base create an inviting, comfortable seat, while the simple construction showcases Wegner’s emphasis on both functionality and timeless form. The chair is in good vintage condition although it has some marking to the armrests as shown above. The chair measures 43 inches in height, 25 inches in width and 31 inches in depth. The chair has a seat height of 17.5 inches, a seat width of 21 inches, a seat depth of 19 inches and an armrest height of 25.5 inches.
