An etching with color aquatint on paper titled “Madame Louison” by Georges Rouault, dated 1935. Signed in the plate. The composition depicts a seated female figure rendered with heavy contour lines and layered color, characteristic of Rouault’s graphic style. The image combines expressive linework with muted, earthy tones and areas of saturated color. This work represents Rouault’s mature printmaking practice. An example of early 20th-century European modernism and figurative printmaking.Provenance: From a private estate in Birmingham, MI. Originally acquired from I. Irving Feldman Fine Arts Gallery, Southfield, MI. Dimensions: 26”h x 22”w x 2.25”d (framed). Condition appears consistent with age, with visible plate tone and paper toning typical of works on paper from this era; no major tears or losses are visible. Full condition reports available upon request.Georges Rouault (1871–1958) was a French painter, printmaker, and draftsman associated with early modernism and Expressionism. He studied under Gustave Moreau and later developed a distinctive style marked by heavy black outlines, simplified forms, and a somber palette. Rouault worked extensively in printmaking, particularly etching and aquatint, and his work was exhibited widely in Europe and the United States. His paintings and prints are held in major museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Centre Pompidou.

Items are available for pickup at our Keego Harbor, Michigan location.We ship world-wide and quote through USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, GPX, and with multiple domestic and international freight shipping companies to get you the best price on delivery, and we offer free pick-up for anyone who wants to handle their own delivery.

In most cases parcels are shipped out in 1-3 days and delivered in 3-5 days. Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 1-10 weeks depending on location. We have freight shipments delivered to the East Coast every 1-2 weeks, and to the West Coast every 3- 5 weeks. All delivery dates provided by us are estimates, and all freight deliveries are fulfilled by third party companies. The shipping company we book your delivery with will contact you directly to schedule delivery.

While damage in transit is rare, if you receive a damaged item, please retain all packing materials and notify us as soon as possible. We would be happy to facilitate an insurance claim to reimburse you for the cost of repair; or to accept a return for a full refund.
