A vintage Steelcase 450 side chair with arms and casters. This classic mid-century modern accent chair has a classic modern style, finished with a wonderfully chic orange vinyl plastic upholstery. This chair has a one piece upper, and a lower metal frame with 4 legs and a swiveling base. The 450 series chair was notoriously a part of "Operation Skydrop", a famous marketing campaign in 1966. According to Steelcase, "To demonstrate the durability of the 450 Series chair a skydiver is strapped to the chair. At 1,000 feet the skydiver disengages from the chair, which hits the ground at approximately 100 mph. The base breaks off, but the shell remains undamaged." This particular chair is in good vintage condition, with just some wear to the upholstery and metal base. It measures 33.25 inches tall, 25 inches wide, and 25 inches deep. It has a seat height of 19 inches, a seat width of 19 inches, a seat depth of 18 inches, an arm height of 7 inches, and a back height of 15 inches.

In most cases parcels are shipped out in 1-3 days and delivered in 3-5 days. Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 1-10 weeks depending on location. We have freight shipments delivered to the East Coast every 1-2 weeks, and to the West Coast every 3- 5 weeks. All delivery dates provided by us are estimates, and all freight deliveries are fulfilled by third party companies. The shipping company we book your delivery with will contact you directly to schedule delivery.
While damage in transit is rare, if you receive a damaged item, please retain all packing materials and notify us as soon as possible. We would be happy to facilitate an insurance claim to reimburse you for the cost of repair; or to accept a return for a full refund.
