Retro images are printed on metal, collaged, and intricately nailed down on a flat surface with steel brads to create a unique assemblage. Vintage advertisement on tin packaging is used with new imagery created by the artist. Tony Berlant (1941- ) is best known for his painterly collages and metal cubes. He broke into the art scene after winning the Los Angeles Contemporary Art Council’s New Talent Purchase Award in 1964. Berlant was instrumental in establishing the aesthetic sensibility of the West Coast Pop Art movement. He was part of the seminal 1963 exhibition Pop Art USA at the Oakland Museum of Art, one of the earliest exhibitions of Pop Art that also included Berlant’s contemporaries Robert Rauschenberg, Andy Warhol, and Claes Oldenburg. Berlant has exhibited across the United States, with solo exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; and Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston. Works by Berlant are held in numerous prominent collections, including Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C.; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C.; Art Institute of Chicago; and Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. |

In most cases parcels are shipped out in 1-3 days and delivered in 3-5 days. Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 1-10 weeks depending on location. We have freight shipments delivered to the East Coast every 1-2 weeks, and to the West Coast every 3- 5 weeks. All delivery dates provided by us are estimates, and all freight deliveries are fulfilled by third party companies. The shipping company we book your delivery with will contact you directly to schedule delivery.
While damage in transit is rare, if you receive a damaged item, please retain all packing materials and notify us as soon as possible. We would be happy to facilitate an insurance claim to reimburse you for the cost of repair; or to accept a return for a full refund.
