A powerful patriotic mixed-media lithography with acrylic painting on paper titled “United We Stand” by famed artist Peter Max. Hand signed in acrylic by artist top right. Created in 2001. This work varies from its counterparts. Though it still features the iconic Lady Liberty, she looks more like a miniature placed in what could be a memorial for 9/11 victims. The artwork reminds us to never forget those who we lost on that tragic day. From a private collection, originally purchased from Park West Gallery in 2005. Gallery tag on verso. Dimensions: 38”h x 31.75”w x 1.5”d. In very good vintage condition.
Peter Max is a German-American artist known for using bright colors in his work. His works are associated with the visual arts and culture of the 1960s, particularly psychedelic art and pop art. He has had countless commissions and exhibitions throughout his artistic career and his work has been described as the landscape of the 1960s and 1970s.
