A dynamic oil and gold leaf titled "Shooting Competition" by contemporary Chinese artist Mou-sien Tseng. Titled, dated 1979, and signed on verso. A mounted archer, dressed in ornate garments, prepares his bow while a young attendant leads a second richly adorned horse, accompanied by a dog. The figures and animals are meticulously rendered, their colorful attire and tack set against a resplendent background of gold leaf that enhances the sense of pageantry and timelessness. This work exemplifies Tseng's celebrated ability to blend classical Chinese themes and techniques with modern artistic vision, resulting in a composition that is both historically evocative and strikingly contemporary. Mou-sien Tseng is an acclaimed contemporary Chinese painter whose work has been exhibited internationally, including a major exhibition at the Chinese Cultural Center in New York City (1976). He is celebrated for revitalizing the traditional Chinese subject of horses with a vigorous and modern spirit, earning recognition for his ability to merge historical techniques with contemporary sensibility. Tseng studied at the Taipei Normal School and the National Taiwan Normal University, later advancing his studies at the ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His paintings have garnered many accolades at exhibitions throughout the Republic of China, Southeast Asia, and the United States, establishing him as a respected figure in modern Chinese art.

In most cases parcels are shipped out in 1-3 days and delivered in 3-5 days. Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 1-10 weeks depending on location. We have freight shipments delivered to the East Coast every 1-2 weeks, and to the West Coast every 3- 5 weeks. All delivery dates provided by us are estimates, and all freight deliveries are fulfilled by third party companies. The shipping company we book your delivery with will contact you directly to schedule delivery.
While damage in transit is rare, if you receive a damaged item, please retain all packing materials and notify us as soon as possible. We would be happy to facilitate an insurance claim to reimburse you for the cost of repair; or to accept a return for a full refund.
