Kathryn Youngs is an American ceramic artist associated with late 20th-century postmodern studio pottery. Working primarily in hand-built and wheel-thrown forms, she is known for functional vessels such as pitchers and vases finished with bold, hand-painted surfaces. Her work often features expressive brushwork, simplified floral and abstract motifs, and strong color contrasts reflective of postmodern design influences. Active during the 1980s and 1990s, Youngs’ ceramics have circulated through galleries and regional exhibitions, and her signed works are recognized within the studio pottery market for their painterly surface treatment and decorative character.
