A contemporary abstract expressionist pastel on paper from the Chroma Series by Cynthia Knapp. Hand signed in pencil and dated 1990 on the lower right. Sweeping gestures of vivid color - scarlet reds, cobalt blues, turquoise, and luminous pinks - collide and dissolve into one another, creating a dynamic sense of rhythm and movement. Knapp’s use of soft yet assertive pastel strokes brings a textural immediacy to the work, while her compositional balance between bold chromatic explosions and delicate atmospheric passages reflects her mastery of color theory and abstraction. Cynthia Knapp (1952- ) is a contemporary abstract artist recognized for her dynamic explorations of color and gesture. Her work has been widely exhibited in solo and group shows across the United States, including major galleries in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Knapp’s paintings and works on paper are held in numerous corporate and private collections, and she has been awarded artist residencies at respected institutions such as the MacDowell Colony and Yaddo. Celebrated for her Chroma Series and other bodies of work, Knapp has established herself as a significant voice in postwar abstraction, noted for her innovative use of color and expressive mark-making.

In most cases parcels are shipped out in 1-3 days and delivered in 3-5 days. Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 1-10 weeks depending on location. We have freight shipments delivered to the East Coast every 1-2 weeks, and to the West Coast every 3- 5 weeks. All delivery dates provided by us are estimates, and all freight deliveries are fulfilled by third party companies. The shipping company we book your delivery with will contact you directly to schedule delivery.

While damage in transit is rare, if you receive a damaged item, please retain all packing materials and notify us as soon as possible. We would be happy to facilitate an insurance claim to reimburse you for the cost of repair; or to accept a return for a full refund.
