Description
A contemporary mixed media artwork titled "Home Sweet Home (1984)" by Detroit Cass Corridor artist Nancy Pletos. Signed and titled on verso. A richly textured sculpture that merges elements of folk art with contemporary assemblage. Crafted from layered and painted materials, the work depicts a rustic log cabin surrounded by whimsical details, delicate floral motifs, a perched bird, and organic fibers suggesting straw or thatch, creating both charm and complexity. The relief-like construction gives the piece sculptural depth, while the hand-painted surface adds an intimate, storybook quality. This work reflects Pletos’ distinctive approach to blending narrative, nostalgia, and tactile craftsmanship. From a private collection. Dimensions: 10"h x 12.5"w x 1.5"d. In very good condition.
