Description

A contemporary enhanced giclee on canvas titled "Avenue of the Angels" by Canadian-Israeli artist Victor Ostrovsky. Hand signed bottom left with an annotation of 19/150 on the bottom right. Published circa early 2000s. From the "Metaphors of Espionage" series. A surrealist and intriguing scene with mysterious figures with hidden identities.  Per the artist, “The safe house depicted in Avenue of the Angels actually existed in Nice, France and was part of the artist’s life in the Mossad. Safe houses are usually apartments – not houses – where comings and goings are less likely to attract attention. A safe house must never draw attention to itself. Ironically, safe houses are not very safe because of the unusual activities going on inside. Here, we know there’s an operation underway. The musicians symbolize the rhythm of a mission – not too fast, not too slow. Each operation moves at its own tempo.” From a private collection. Dimensions: 38"w x 30"w x 1"d (framed).
