Description
A modern aquatint etching print on Arches paper titled "Dos Figuras (Two Figures)" by Rufino Tamayo. Hand signed in pencil on the lower right with an annotation of 61/75 on the lower left. Published in 1976. The composition explores the enduring theme of duality through a pair of stylized, totemic forms rendered in a rich ochre palette. The textured surfaces suggest ancient stone or ceremonial artifacts as they stand side by side within a luminous golden field. The work showcases Tamayo's mastery of printmaking, where subtle tonal gradations and tactile textures merge to create depth and presence. It embraces Tamayo's celebrated fusion of pre-Columbian influence and modern abstraction, offering a timeless meditation on human connection and cultural heritage. From a private collection. Dimensions: 24.25"h x 31"w x 1"d (framed). In very good vintage condition. Full condition reports are available upon request.
