A late 19th century American Realism genre scene Untitled (Landscape with Children) by William H. Wilcox. Signed lower right. A tranquil rural scene with pastoral grace and charming details. In the foreground, three children—two girls and a boy—sit near the edge of a gently flowing creek, engaged in quiet conversation. One girl wears a white bonnet and dress, while the others are in more rustic attire, their baskets and hats resting beside them. Behind them, a rustic wooden footbridge arches over the stream, leading into a lush landscape of trees and bushes bathed in soft, diffused light. The artist’s delicate brushwork and warm palette evoke a serene, nostalgic atmosphere that celebrates the simplicity and beauty of country life. Provenance: Collection of Bloomfield Fine Arts Gallery, formally in Birmingham, Michigan. Willcox (1831–1929) was an American painter renowned for his detailed landscapes, coastal scenes, and portraits, primarily active in Pennsylvania and New York. His works often depict serene natural settings and historical locales, reflecting a meticulous attention to detail and composition. Willcox's paintings have been featured in various exhibitions and are held in esteemed collections. Notably, his 1875 oil painting Skating on the Schuylkill, illustrating over 100 skaters on the frozen river, was part of the Dick Button Skating Collection and auctioned by Brunk Auctions in 2019. Throughout his career, Willcox's artworks have been sought after in the art market, with pieces like The Wissahickon in October (1898) and View in Cromwell, Connecticut with Middletown in the Distance (1889) achieving significant attention at auctions. While specific awards and museum exhibitions during his lifetime are not extensively documented, Willcox's legacy endures through his contributions to American landscape painting and the continued appreciation of his work by collectors and art enthusiasts.

In most cases parcels are shipped out in 1-3 days and delivered in 3-5 days. Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 1-10 weeks depending on location. We have freight shipments delivered to the East Coast every 1-2 weeks, and to the West Coast every 3- 5 weeks. All delivery dates provided by us are estimates, and all freight deliveries are fulfilled by third party companies. The shipping company we book your delivery with will contact you directly to schedule delivery.

While damage in transit is rare, if you receive a damaged item, please retain all packing materials and notify us as soon as possible. We would be happy to facilitate an insurance claim to reimburse you for the cost of repair; or to accept a return for a full refund.
