The composition emphasizes movement in the water through visible brushwork and layered tones of green and blue. Full condition reports available upon request.Harry “Tony” Leith-Ross (1886–1973) was a British-born American painter associated with the New Hope Art Colony and recognized for his marine and landscape subjects. He studied at the Royal College of Art in London before emigrating to the United States, where he became active in prominent art circles. Leith-Ross was a member of the National Academy of Design and exhibited widely at institutions including the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the National Academy of Design. His work received multiple awards in national exhibitions, and he later served as an instructor at the Art Students League of New York, contributing to American representational painting in the early 20th century.
