An antique oil painting on canvas titled “Strawberries Cream” by Edmund Havell the Younger. Painted in 1864 in Clifton, Bristol in the United Kingdom. Annotated on verso with the following verse: “Her cheeks are like roses her mouth much the same. Like a dish of fresh strawberries all smother’d.” The plaque on the frame states the years Edmund Havell the Younger exhibited work in London at the Royal Academy, British Institution and the Royal Society of British Artists which was from 1835 to 1895. This painting was created during the peak of Havell the Younger’s artistic career. A realist and romantic portrait rich with history. From a private collection in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dimensions: 23”h x 19.5” x 2”d (framed). In good vintage condition with slight cracking that is consistent with age.
Edmund the Havell the Younger (1819-1894) was an English artist known for genre and portrait paintings. He came from an artistic family and his father, Edmund Havell the Elder, had been a landscape painter, as was his uncle, William Havell. Havell the Younger exhibited work in London at the Royal Academy, British Institution and the Royal Society of British Artists from 1835 to 1895. He also produced lithographs, mainly of portraits. He is known to have visited the United States and exhibited work in Philadelphia. One of his most famous portrait commissions was of the poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning, which today is in the collection of the Armstrong Browning Library at Baylor University, Waco, Texas.

In most cases parcels are shipped out in 1-3 days and delivered in 3-5 days. Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 1-10 weeks depending on location. We have freight shipments delivered to the East Coast every 1-2 weeks, and to the West Coast every 3- 5 weeks. All delivery dates provided by us are estimates, and all freight deliveries are fulfilled by third party companies. The shipping company we book your delivery with will contact you directly to schedule delivery.
While damage in transit is rare, if you receive a damaged item, please retain all packing materials and notify us as soon as possible. We would be happy to facilitate an insurance claim to reimburse you for the cost of repair; or to accept a return for a full refund.
