Description

Intricate ceremonial Bamboo flower basket of hanakago. This basket with varied styles of weaving and bamboo and rattan features is an excellent example of the Chikusbosai style of Japanese basket design that started the renaissance from the more traditional Chinese style to a more natural design. As a student of Chikuunsai I, Chikubosai used the more traditional Karamono style. This period of design of Japanese bamboo art is one of the most significant changes to the structure and composition of Ikebana design. This basket is hexagonal in shape, with a squared bamboo handle. The gently rounded shape with loose bamboo strip at the mid-section is unique in its configuration and style. The tightly woven rattan plaiting is a tribute to the Chinese heritage of these baskets. From a private collection. Dimensions: 16.5”h x 9.75”diameter. In very good condition.

In most cases parcels are shipped out in 1-3 days and delivered in 3-5 days. Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 1-10 weeks depending on location. We have freight shipments delivered to the East Coast every 1-2 weeks, and to the West Coast every 3- 5 weeks. All delivery dates provided by us are estimates, and all freight deliveries are fulfilled by third party companies. The shipping company we book your delivery with will contact you directly to schedule delivery.

 

While damage in transit is rare, if you receive a damaged item, please retain all packing materials and notify us as soon as possible. We would be happy to facilitate an insurance claim to reimburse you for the cost of repair; or to accept a return for a full refund.
