A modern lithograph on paper titled “Composition, Tête d'Animal” by Swedish artist Bengt Lindström. Hand signed in pencil on the bottom right with an annotation of E.A. XI/XII on the bottom left. Published circa 1970s. The composition features the profile of two animals facing each other together. Identified with a large eye and an elongated mouth with teeth. Abstracted in primary colors blue and red. Outlined in stark black. A unique modern statement. From a private collection. Dimensions: 27.25”h x 35.75” x 1”d (framed). Bengt Lindström (1925-2008) was a Swedish artist. Lindström was one of Sweden's best known contemporary artists with a characteristic style of distinct colors, often including contorted faces. Lindström was influenced by and often based his work on the ethnic traditions of the Nordic world and Sámi culture. He was also influenced by the paintings of the COBRA group, active in the period Bengt studied in Copenhagen. Throughout his life exhibitions were held in Europe and the United States, earning him a solid reputation among the public and his peers. Bengt Lindström's work is exhibited in museums all over the world.
