Description

A modern lithograph on paper titled “To Parents Whom” by Ben Shahn. Signed in the plate. From the Rilke portfolio, published in 1968 by Atelier Mourlot Ltd., New York. A serene composition of a male figure with closed eyes. On the verso of the lithograph, it is printed with a verse. Ben Shahn protested social injustice and honored ordinary people in lithographs, paintings, photographs, and public murals. He is best known for his works of social realism, his left-wing political views, and his series of lectures published as The Shape of Content. From a private collection. Dimensions: 22.5”h x 17.75”w (unframed). In very good vintage condition.
